Christoper Horne

CIBC Mellon

Christopher Horne is responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement of CIBC Mellon’s information technology governance, vendor management, corporate security and business continuity programs. He is the lead coordinator for CIBC Mellon’s emergency response, incident management, business recovery, service continuity and disaster recovery planning. Christopher was responsible for leading CIBC Mellon’s effort to align its Business Continuity program to the ISO standard for Business Continuity Management Systems (ISO 22301:2012), which culminated in the company's 2015 certification to the standard by the British Standards Institution (BSI).

Christopher has been working in Business Continuity planning since 2003, with a career spanning the retail, energy, banking, and financial services industries. He has been responsible for Canadian and North American Business Continuity programs, and has also coordinated planning efforts with parent organizations located in the United Kingdom and the United States. Christopher is a Member of the Business Continuity Institute (MBCI), a Certified Business Continuity Planner (CBCP), a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), and is Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC).

Christopher has been actively involved in the Business Continuity Institute in Canada since 2005. He has volunteered with the Ontario Greater Toronto Area (GTA) forum in various positions and previously held the Canadian Chapters Communication Coordinator role from November 2006 to September 2008. He is the current GTA forum leader and became the President of the Business Continuity Institute’s Canada Chapter in June of 2014.

Joe Ozorio

Senior Managing Consultant

Joe is a Senior Managing Consultant with IBM Canada’s Resiliency Services and has more than 18 years as a Business Continuity Management (BCM) practitioner, focusing on Business Continuity, IT Disaster Recovery, Crisis Management, Emergency Management and Pandemic Planning. He has had a career in various IT support and management roles for over 30 years. Joe is currently President of the Disaster Recovery Information Exchange (DRIE) Toronto Chapter – a non-profit, member funded association of professionals in the Business Continuity Management practice/industry. Joe, along with the executive board of DRIE Toronto are proud to be a key partner of the Continuity Management Symposium 2017.

John Yamniuk, MBCP


John is a certified Master Business Continuity Professional with 37 years diverse experience in the telecommunications industry and has been a practitioner in the business continuity industry for more than twenty-two years. He continues his work in the business continuity industry as a consultant and has been part of the DRI CANADA/DRI International instructor corps since 2007. His experience and expertise in the business continuity industry includes extensive work in business continuity planning and operations, both at a regional and a national telecommunications level, labour disruption planning, course development and delivery, exercise design and facilitation, after action reviews, risk evaluation, business impact analysis, strategy development, special event business continuity planning and operations (the 2001 World Championships in Athletics in Edmonton, TELUS 2010 Olympics planning and operations, and the 2002 G8 World Leaders Summit in Kananaskis). Currently, John is the Chair of the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) Technical Committee for Z1600 Standard for Emergency and Continuity Management Programs, member of the Board of Directors of DRI CANADA (Director Western Region, Secretary & Privacy Officer, and Chair of the DRI CANADA Awards of Excellence Program), Past-President of DRIE West, past Chair of the Canadian Telecommunications Emergency Preparedness Association. John is based in Calgary, Alberta.
