Description
Few innovations have had more impact on emergency services than the Incident Command System (ICS). You have probably heard of ICS, but do you really understand how it can be applied at various levels of response? This interactive session describes the features and illustrates how incorporating ICS principles assists in developing an efficient, effective and economical incident management system.
 
Speaker Bio
Pete Learoyd is the program manager responsible for emergency management delivery with the Justice Institute of British Columbia’s Emergency Management Division. The Justice Institute is a Canadian leader in providing innovative education and training for responders and others who make communities safe.

Pete has extensive experience in developing and delivering emergency management training for government, NGO’s and the private sector as well as a broad background in the field of safety, security and emergency management. Pete and his team recently received the JIBC’s Program of Excellence Award for their Incident Command System training program.

Co-Speaker Bio
Jerome Rodriguez is the Incident Command System (ICS) program coordinator with the Emergency Management Division of the Justice Institute of British Columbia. His practical experience comes from over 12 years with the BC Corrections Branch involving operational, planning and logistical aspects of emergency and critical incident response. Jerome has developed training programs for Police, Corrections, Probation, Emergency Management and Health organizations domestically and internationally and holds certification in Adult Education from the B.C. Ministry of Advanced Education, and Emergency Management and Critical Incident Stress Management from the JIBC.
