Description
Division Chief Jim Sideras will take you into the chaos of managing a mass causality incident (MCI). He was the medical branch director for a winter MCI with a hundred patients. The lessons learned from his experiences, and his useful tips, will allow you to better prepare for a MCI.
 
Speaker Bio

James Sideras is a Division Chief for Sioux Falls Fire Rescue. He has received the national accreditations of both the Chief Fire Officer (CFO) and Chief Medical Officer (CMO) designations. He is a 24-year veteran of SFFR and a registered nurse with a Master of Science degree in nursing as a Clinical Nurse Specialist.

He completed a Fellowship at Harvard University, and is currently is in the National Fire Academy's Executive Fire Officer program. He has presented at several national and world conferences on various topics concerning fire and EMS. He is also an advisor to foreign Heads of State and Fortune 500 companies.

Jim is a former intensive care burn nurse and a member of the National Association of EMS Physicians, Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, the South Dakota Nurses Association, the South Dakota EMT Association, and the Harvard Alumni Association.
