The Australian Government has developed strong relationships with industry through an engagement on national security, and collaboration to better understand the complex interdependencies of our critical infrastructure.  This session will show how these working relationships have been successful in encouraging industry to develop organisational resilience.
 
Speaker Bio
Mike heads the Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) Branch of the Attorney-General’s Department, a position he has held since December 2004. The CIP Branch provides policy advice and coordination of initiatives protecting Australian business from national security threats, both physical and electronic. Since joining the Attorney-General’s Department in 1995 Mike has worked on counter terrorism policy & training, e-security and secure communications.

Mike first joined the Defence Science and Technology Organisation in South Australia in 1984, moving to the Defence Security Branch in 1988. A graduate of the University of Adelaide (political science) and the University of New England (public policy), Mike and has also received training at the ADF School of Military Intelligence.

Mike is a panel member of the National Centre for Security Standards of Standards Australia, and is chair of the Advisory Board of the Research Network for a Secure Australia.
