Description
Understanding Canadian emergency legislation, regulations, and case law is critical for appropriate risk mitigation. This presentation will provide an overview of the many levels of emergency management laws in Canada. Practical advice on developing an emergency plan, for all organizations, that is legally compliant, will also be covered.
 
Speaker Bio

Mr. Keith is a partner and leads at Gowlings, the national Occupational Health and Safety, Workers' Compensation, and Emergency Management ("OHS") practice.

Mr. Keith is an accomplished trial lawyer. During his career, Mr. Keith has successfully defended more than 1,000 charges under the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act, related statutes and regulations. Norm has assisted clients in a wide range of industries in advising on workplace risk management and emergency preparedness planning. He leads the firm’s national occupational health and safety (OHS) practice team of lawyers and OHS consultants.
